In recognition of the 27th Annual National Recovery Month, Alcohol & Drug Services, Inc. and Caring Services, Inc. will sponsor CELEBRATE RECOVERY on Sunday—September 25, 2016 at Oak Hollow Festival Park (1841 Eastchester Drive, High Point, NC) from 2pm-5pm. The purpose of this event is to honor and support individuals and families who are in recovery from substance use. People in recovery are all around us. They are full contributors to our community, participating in business, volunteering, and providing for their families. Our goal is to promote an even more accepting environment, where people feel free to join others on their path of recovery.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY is FREE and open to the public. Activities will include speaker presentations, information booths, live entertainment, door prizes, food, bounce houses and games for the entire family. This year’s theme, “Join the Voices for Recovery: OUR FAMILIES, OUR STORIES, OUR RECOVERY” highlights the value of peer support by educating, mentoring, and helping others. It invites individuals in recovery and their support systems to be active change agents in communities, and in civic and advocacy engagements. It is critical that people experiencing mental and/or substance use disorders receive the support they need. The reality is that behavioral health is essential to health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.

Let’s celebrate recovery and change the addiction conversation in our community from problems to solutions. We all have the potential to make a difference and be visible, vocal, and valuable to help spread the message that recovery is possible!
