Message from ADS Board Members

ADS Board Member

Every day in our country an average of 4,600 young people use illicit drugs for the first time. Research has shown that individuals who start using drugs or drinking before the age of 18 are 7 times more likely to develop issues with substance abuse as an adult.

President & CEO

Who among us is not interested in a better future, for ourselves, our loved ones and for the community in which we live? Yet, the promise of a better future can often be limited by barriers such as substance abuse. Through dedication, collaboration and a commitment to quality, Alcohol and Drug Services’ programs help to remove the barriers to a better future through prevention, intervention and treatment for individuals whose lives are impacted by substance abuse. We believe in people. We believe in their capacity to heal, to grow, to succeed and to affect those around them in a positive way.

Building on the strengths and outcomes of ADS, we have continued to fulfill our mission for over 42 years. We know that prevention and effective treatment are the foundation to overcoming substance abuse.

A better future requires time, commitment, care and resources. With your support ADS can continue to provide quality services to our community and to the individuals and families impacted by addictive disease. Please join us in helping redirect the future of our youths and transform the lives of those who are recovering from substance abuse.

ADS is the result of several mergers which brought together years of expertise and key providers of alcohol and drug prevention and treatment services in Guilford County.
